Nude faces are currently the hottest trend to try. This does not mean, though, that one should entirely forgo any eye makeup.
In fact, makeup artists encourage some eye game that complements the skin and enhances its natural complexion. Think of it is a restrained smoky-eye aesthetic.
For all those women insecure in their shadow strengths, Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian West’s beauty guru, has some secrets and application techniques to share that not only land themselves to the bare-skin craze but also to the classic smoky eye. One can only learn from the best in the craft.
A big revelation that has just recently came out is Dedivanovic’s use of concealer as an eyeshadow. He chooses cream concealers that are five or six shades darker than his customers’ skin tones to create natural, barely-there looks. For Dedivanovic, who either uses a brush to spread the concealer across the eyelid or simply dabs it with his fingers, this trick produces the sexiest smoky-eye effect one can hope for.
Once Dedivanovic is done applying concealer, there are two ways to go – a dewy or textured finish. For the latter, he recommends adding neutral powdered eye shadow to fix the concealer and give some drama to it. For the former, he lets out another trick – Vaseline, smeared at the center of the eyelids. While jelly is easier to mess up and rub off, if applied correctly and in minuscule amounts, it is the easiest and cheapest means toward balmy lids.
So, next time you head to the beauty store, opt for a dark concealer instead of a smoky-eye palette.
