Dori’s World: Avenue Antiques and Art, Gucci Charity Gala and Lunch at Cipriani

News | September 30, 2010

On Wednesday evening, I attended the AVNUE Antiques and Art at the Armory opening night preview with Lizzie and Jon Tisch, Peter Davis, Mark Gilbertson, Gigi Stone and Alex Kramer before heading to the Giorgio Gucci Gala, A Night of Italian Glamour that Couri Hay put together at the Taj Pierre Hotel.

The gala was held in a salute to 25 different local charities as well as to celebrate the launch of Giorgio G’s limited line of premium 35-, 50- and 50-plus year-old cognacs. During the evening, Giorgio was honored with the Emperor’s Brand Entrepreneurship Award. He’s the grandson of the legendary Gucci who founded Gucci Italian leather goods.

At the party I ran into Tatiana Platt and all of the “Real Housewives of New York City.” Other guests included Emperor’s Brand president Zina Mashin, Sharon and Lauren Bush, Tracy Stern, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Cassandra Seidenfeld and Michele Gerber Klein.

Next, I headed up to Matthew and Nicole Mellon’s new apartment that they just bought in the Pierre Hotel.

Today, Lana Wolkonsky Forstmann hosted a lunch at Cipriani Downtown for Caroline Berthet’s engagement. Serena and Samantha Boardman, Ulla Parker, Ana Laffont and Daniella Rich were all there to celebrate. Cipriani was jam-packed today. We saw Howard Lorber there dining with Billy Walters in one corner, Terry Kramer holding court in another, and designer Luca Luca at another!
