Krug & Larrabee Studios Are Turning Champagne Tasting Into a Live Original Song

Krug Champagne has spent decades exploring what music can reveal about the way people taste, and its newest collaboration takes that idea further than ever: guests don’t just listen to music while drinking Krug; they help create it in real time. The Art of Blending Krug & Sound at Larrabee Studios, announced September 14 in Los Angeles, invites guests into Larrabee’s legendary Studio 6 for an evening where the emotions and memories stirred by each glass of Champagne are translated, live, into an original musical composition.

Manny Marroquin, the 14-time Grammy-winning producer and owner of Larrabee Studios, hosts the experience alongside producers Scott Tibbs, Nick Rosen, and Mike Bennett. Throughout the evening, guests will share their individual reactions, tastes, and associations with each cuvée, and the producers will turn that input into a single, unrepeatable piece of music by the end of the night. “Partnering with Krug gave us the opportunity to invite guests into that process, where every conversation, every shared moment and every glass of Champagne becomes part of the music we’re creating together,” Marroquin said. “No two evenings will ever be the same.”

The tasting centers on Les Créations de 2013, pairing Krug 2013 with Krug Grande Cuvée 169ème Édition to guide the session, while Chef Oscar Torres of VERSE presents a multi-course menu paired with Krug Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition and Krug Rosé 29ème Édition. Julie Cavil, Krug’s Chef de Caves, framed the collaboration as an extension of the house’s long-running relationship with music, following past encounters with musicians and composers including Max Richter. “Music has this extraordinary ability to translate sensations and emotions into another language,” Cavil said. “This encounter with Larrabee Studios invites each guest to bring their own interpretation, creating a singular dialogue between taste and sound that cannot be replicated.”

The Art of Blending Krug & Sound takes place across three evenings, September 28, 29, and 30, 2026, at Larrabee’s Studio 6, with a limited number of reservations available via Tock starting September 14. After the exclusive sessions, the experience continues with a month-long Krug Grand Cuvée pairing by Chef Oscar Torres at Larrabee’s neighboring restaurants, VERSE and Mensano — book reservations here.
