At Home With Adonis Design: Where Family, Fantasy and Old Hollywood Meet

For George Coritsidis and Leeor Ely, design has always been about creating something special. But when the recently married couple behind Adonis Design turned to their own 1930s Hollywood Hills residence, the project became personal: creating a home around the people they love.

The pair have created high-end spaces across New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, Dubai, South America and Greece, with a portfolio that ranges from fashion boutiques, restaurants and private members’ clubs to luxury condominiums and eight-figure residences. Their work embraces character, drama and individuality rather than following prevailing tastes.

Yet designing for themselves presented a different challenge.

Their Hollywood Hills home wasn’t simply another renovation. It united their eccentricities, histories and points of view in a place conceived not only to look extraordinary, but to make their family feel happy, peaceful and connected.

The residence offered Coritsidis and Ely an opportunity to celebrate the romance of Los Angeles’ past while reimagining it around contemporary family life. Their touchstone became one of the city’s most recognizable icons: The Beverly Hills Hotel.

The result is a residence that moves easily between nostalgia and modernity. It is polished enough for a glamorous evening of entertaining, but comfortable and personal enough to remain unmistakably the home of a young family.

That feeling begins before anyone reaches the front door.

A custom striped fence and bespoke sign give the property its own identity, suggesting that the world beyond the gates may operate by different rules.

Inside, a richly considered foyer marks the transition from Los Angeles to the intimate universe the couple has created within.

The formal living room clearly expresses their approach. Custom woodwork introduces warmth and architectural character, while a rare antique chandelier provides theatricality overhead. Rather than filling the room with overtly contemporary statements, Coritsidis and Ely layered craftsmanship, vintage pieces and collected details to give the impression that the house has evolved naturally over generations.

Outside, the mood shifts from Old Hollywood residence to private resort.

The rear patio was conceived as an extension of the interiors, a secluded retreat inspired by the leisurely spirit of The Beverly Hills Hotel. Lush landscaping surrounds areas for lounging and entertaining, creating the feeling of having escaped Los Angeles while never actually leaving the Hills.

A second outdoor living area places one of the family’s favorite rituals at its center: gathering around a table.

Anchored by an oversized dining table, the space was created to accommodate everything from intimate family dinners to long afternoons with friends that stretch into the evening. It is beautiful, but its beauty is ultimately in service of something more important: bringing people together.

After years creating spaces in America’s most coveted neighborhoods, Coritsidis and Ely discovered that designing their own home required a different measure of success. The question was no longer simply whether a room photographed beautifully or made a dramatic first impression. It was how their son would remember growing up there. Whether friends would linger around the table. Whether the family would feel protected from the pace of the city outside.

Their Hollywood Hills residence may be a showcase for the world they have created through Adonis Design, but its real significance is far simpler.

They didn’t simply restore a Hollywood house. They designed the backdrop to their family’s story.
