Rosé all day? Try Rosé For Two Decades With Whispering Angel

On Wednesday evening, Whispering Angel marked its 20th anniversary in the most Miami way possible: with a candlelit fête at Villa Casuarina at The Versace Mansion that officially kicked off the 25th anniversary weekend of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.
Hosted by founder Sacha Lichine, the evening honored not just a bottle, but a bona fide global movement. Since its debut at Château d’Esclans in 2006, Whispering Angel has transformed rosé from a seasonal afterthought into the ultimate emblem of modern luxury. Poured from St. Tropez to Palm Beach and everywhere chic in between.
Guests arrived at the storied Ocean Drive estate, once home to Gianni Versace, and stepped into a series of immersive, rosé-hued moments woven throughout the mansion’s iconic architecture. Grand display walls showcased Whispering Angel alongside the estate’s collection, including Château d’Esclans wines, offering striking backdrops for photographs, reunions, and celebratory toasts.
Hospitality leaders mingled with media fixtures and longtime friends of the brand, all raising a glass to the newly released 20th vintage.

Throughout the evening, guests sipped the milestone bottling crafted from Grenache, Cinsault, and Rolle grapes, harvested at night in Provence to preserve freshness and elegance. Crisp, pale, and impossibly photogenic, the wine that helped spark the Rosé Renaissance felt right at home against the mansion’s mosaic floors and flickering candlelight.
But this was Miami, after all. Beyond the rosé bars and courtyard revelry, a hidden Rosaluna mezcal speakeasy awaited discovery. An intimate late-night enclave tucked inside the property that offered a sultry counterpoint to Provence’s breezy refinement.
As music filled the courtyard, the celebration evolved into a full-fledged dance party beneath the glow of the mansion’s arches. Glasses stayed full. The vibe? Effortless glamour with just the right hint of decadence.
The evening also unveiled Whispering Angel’s special 20th anniversary label, along with commemorative artwork composed of 20 visual stories capturing defining moments in the brand’s journey. From its early days in Provence to its ascent as the world’s leading rosé, now poured in more than 100 countries.
Long synonymous with South Florida’s social scene — from waterfront soirées in Miami Beach to gala season in Palm Beach — the anniversary celebration underscored the city’s integral role in the brand’s cultural rise. If rosé has a second home beyond France, it might just be Ocean Drive.
Serving as the unofficial kickoff to SOBEWFF’s milestone weekend, the celebration set a sparkling tone for days of culinary indulgence still to come. Festivities will continue with curated activations throughout Miami, culminating in a tribute dinner honoring Lichine and the legacy he built — one pale pink pour at a time.
After twenty years, Whispering Angel is still sparkling and the world loves its buzz.
