Rockefeller Center Welcomes A New, Luxe Cocktail Bar: Smith & Mills

Smith & Mills, the iconic Tribeca institution, has expanded its horizons with the inauguration of its second location at Rockefeller Center. This stylish cocktail bar now graces uptown Manhattan, offering a diverse menu of beverages and an all-day dining experience complete with an extensive raw bar selection. Following sixteen successful years in its original downtown establishment, restaurateurs Akiva Elstein and Matthew Abramcyck have chosen to infuse the vibrant essence of Tribeca into one of the city’s most cherished landmarks. Notably, this new location proudly claims the distinction of being the historic building’s sole cocktail bar.

Located on the rink level, Smith & Mills offers an extensive menu with raw bar favorites and shareable dishes like oysters, crudo, clams, a seafood plateau, and a Ploughman’s plate. Differing from the Tribeca menu, the new location offers main courses like a Fisherman’s Stew, Tagliatelle, Pastrami Short Rib Reuben, and more. And the small plates are just as delicious as the mains with the likes of a delectable Rock Shrimp Scampi, Salmon Rillettes, and Cavatelli.

When it comes to the drinks, Beverage Director, Robert Krueger, crafted the cocktail offerings to be reflective of the new space with a refined yet approachable aesthetic. The drink menu offers several of Smith & Mills already fan-favorite cocktails as well as some new ones like the Fuschian Confession, an aperitif with Dorothy Parker Rose Gin, Mazzuro Aperitivo, Cocchi Americano, and Grapefruit Bitter, and the Cosmo Royale made with Meyer Lemon Vodka, Cointreau, Lime, Cranberry and Champagne. The menu also includes an array of decadent martini offerings, champagnes, wines, beer, and more. 

The high-end service features a larger raw bar in the front and a private dining room and bar seating in the back. The elegant space is centered around a stunning oblong bar encircled with lush velvet banquettes making it the ultimate luxury destination to sip at next time you’re around midtown.

Smith & Mills Rockefeller Center is currently open Mondays through Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Beginning January 2nd, they will be open from Monday through Saturday 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Lunch is served from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Oyster Hour is from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
