Avant Gallery’s Fourth Venue Premieres in Hudson Yards
Founded in 2007 in Miami Beach by Dmitry Prut, Avant Gallery has been known for its contemporary art exhibitions where artistic talent and luxury come together to capture the attention of art enthusiasts. As of March 15th, Avant Gallery in Hudson Yards officially opened to the public, joining three other venues with locations in Miami and Dubai.
Located on Level One of 30 Hudson Yards, Avant Gallery’s first permanent New York City location coincided with the new development’s launch. It comes as no surprise that the gallery is strategically located in the city’s hottest emerging neighborhood in Manhattan’s West Side.
The inaugural group exhibition There Goes The Neighborhood: New Art for the New, New York features a selection of Avant Gallery’s international talent showcasing their creativity through the use of different forms of media.
On view is Los Angeles based artist Skyler Grey’s work, which forms part of an artistic alliance with Automobili Lamborghini, the first for the Italian luxury motor company, in which he is now creating a historic design for the Aventador SVJ Roadster series. Known as the “The Fresh Prince of Street Art,” Grey is only one of multiple artists who brought their talent to the Hudson Yards inauguration.
Tom Fruin brought his latest work, an architectural display which plays with color and light through the use of found objects. Also featured is Colombian artist Felipe Echeverry, known as LaSsO, who reflects on the diasporic experience through mid-century modern inspired images with a touch of tropical character.
Artists additionally forming part of the group exhibition include Jacqueline Suowari, BNS, Will Kurtz, Jacqueline Suowari, Florian Eymann, Christian D. Pope, Guy le Baube, STMTS, Lina Condes, and Leo Caillard. The inaugural exhibition for the permanent NYC location will be on view through May 5th.
