Fashion designer Rachel Zoe invited friends and industry members to view her Spring 2019 collection earlier this week at Hotel Bel-Air, just days before New York Fashion Week kicked off on the opposite coast.

The guest list included prominent actresses, models, entrepreneurs and industry players. Jessica Alba, Molly Sims, Victoria Justice, Rachel Bloom, Chloe Bennet, Sarah Wright, sisters Sara and Erin Foster, designers Jennifer Meyer and Anita Ko, and stylist Jamie Mizrahi were among those who turned out to support their friend’s work.

In addition to a fabulous runway show, the stylish ensemble enjoyed a seated dinner, with a choice between mesquite grilled American Wagyu and pan roasted Scottish salmon for the main course. Belvedere Vodka served up a special cocktail for the occasion — The Golden Hour, featuring Belvedere Ginger Zest, lemon juice, cassis, Chandon Rosé and a dash of gold.

Since the launch of her first collection in 2011, the designer has owned black and white. Rest assured, there’s still some structural black and white looks to go around, such as sleek bridal gowns with an array of necklines, and a black pantsuit with a single-button peplum blazer.

But Zoe said at the presentation that she had been inspired by a confluence of Parisian style and feminine power, and it shows. The collection ultimately delivers the glamorous California-bohemian chic that’s earned Rachel Zoe a legion of fans — with a few unexpected turns this time around.

Although we’ve seen her incorporate more and more color into ready-to-wear collections over the years, the Spring 2019 lineup boasts a visual feast of pastel pinks, rosy hues, creamy shades, floral prints and even a flirty lipstick-kiss print.

Monochromatic pieces in soft apricot, turquoise and cornflower blue, in turn, serve to bring just a touch more drama. Ruffles, fringe, flowing fabrics and sequins are all present, adding a delicious variety of silhouettes and textures.

For the soiree, Rachel Zoe partnered with Lyft and Belvedere Vodka. The latter was also a partner earlier this year at her Moroccan-inspired fete at The Parker Palm Springs Hotel ahead of Coachella.

No doubt the designers’ special guests were all abuzz over her first ever brick-and-mortar store, which will officially open September 22 at Palisades Village by Caruso. The new boutique promises to be pure wish fulfillment for style-savvy mavens who’ve always dreamed of having Rachel Zoe’s talents at their regular disposal. And now that Zoe’s unveiled her dazzling Spring 2019 collection, we can only imagine how busy the boutique’s stylists are sure to be.
