KREWE Brings New Orleans To New York City With Their First Store Downtown
Louisiana native Stirling Barrett has built quite a cult following with his brand KREWE Eyewear. Every pair of KREWE Eyewear is designed in the Big Easy Design Studio, with each frame hand-carved out of extremely lightweight heat-sensitive acetate for a customized fit that lasts. Barrett created the first version of the frames for a Fashion Fund design challenge, and last year was named a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund runner-up.
“New Yorkers have sought out Krewe since our inception, recognizing New Orleans as a sister global city – both are cultural hubs for architecture, music, food, and art. Even though we are building a brand from New Orleans, New York has, and will continue to have, a fundamental impact on our creative process.” – Founder and Creative Director, Stirling Barrett.
It comes as no surprise, that the brand opens its first New York shop. Krewe will be holding their first ever SoHo Sample Sale Saturday November, 18th from 9am to 4pm; at their newly opened residency storefront at 39 ½ Crosby Street. Frames will be 60 to 80% off, which is amazing for them; frames that normally run from $175 to $375 will be going for$20 to $155.
