Moinian Group’s W Hotel & Residences New York
New York City’s Washington Street is welcoming a brand new luxury face to the neighborhood. Outpacing numerous other projects in the vicinity, including the Freedom Tower that is just one block away, the W New York Downtown Hotel & Residences has reached completion.
The stunning new addition to lower Manhattan will function as a 58-story multi-purpose building with 223 residential condos and a 217-room luxury W Hotel. It will be the first residential development in Manhattan of the W brand, which seems to be spitting in the face of the 2009 recession; expansions have been sprouting up and reshaping the skylines of cities all across the nation, including the W Fort Lauderdale and the W South Beach. Amenities that have been wowing the crowds in other markets, and are sure to impress even the most jaded New Yorker, include the Living Room, the W’s ultra chic lounge where you’ll find members of the sophisticated set sipping Louis XIII de Rémy Martin on any given night. Signature dining will of course be addressed as will the need to perspire while pumping iron at the fitness club Sweat.
Designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects and developed by the Moinian Group, this addition to the New York City skyline is located just between Carlisle and Albany streets. The glass-curtained wall building features interior designs by the award-winning firm GRAFT who incorporated avant-garde details conceived of to soothe the senses while inspiring a whole new wave of elite chic aesthetics.
