The rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of celebrity shoppers and tastemakers who came out for a cause over the weekend to attend the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance’s (OCRFA) third annual Super Saturday LA.
Jaime King, Melissa Rivers, Lisa Rinna, Heather McDonald, Jodi Sweetin, Twitch Boss and Allison Holker joined returning hosts Rachel Zoe, Molly Sims, Scott Stuber and Rodger Berman by attending Super Saturday, the largest global organization dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research while supporting women and their families. All of the proceeds from sales of merchandise, tickets and tables go toward funding OCRFA’s programs, including vital ovarian cancer research by the nation’s top scientists as they seek to end this terrible disease.
It is a testament to the organization that it has expanded its outreach to Los Angeles after its successful start in 1998, when the event was held in the backyard of former Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief and former OCRF President Liz Tilberis’ Hamptons home.
The event, which originated in The Hamptons, was held for the third year in a row at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar, where guests and their families were treated to food, fun and festivities throughout the rain-spotted day.
Brands that participated in what has been dubbed the “Rolls Royce of garage sales” included Jenni Kayne, Robert Graham, the Malibu Country Mart, Genetic Los Angeles, WILDFOX, Melissa Shoes Siegerson Morrison and Yumi Kim.
Other indulgences available to guests included complimentary hair styling by Conair, makeup applications by Mary Kay and a La Roche-Posay skincare tip station. BHG Catering provided French cuisine with a California twist, while signature cocktails were provided by Blue Ice Vodka. Kids were treated to sweet treats from Tasti D-Lite of which included a sundae station and Sprinkles cupcakes.
