Haute Spots Nantucket: Brant Point Grill
One of the most prominent properties in Nantucket that has been a standout on this quaint island since the 1920s is the White Elephant. With its notable gray shingles and white shutters, the luxury hotel is home to Brant Point Grill, best known to locals as BPG, which is even better known for its Pineland Farms all natural steaks and fresh local seafood dishes. The restaurant is located just a few cobblestone blocks away from Nantucket center, Brant Point Beach and Brant Point Lighthouse so you can easily walk from downtown Nantucket for lunch or dinner here.

Whether you choose to sit indoors or outside on the Harborside Terrace, the restaurant offers beautiful oceanside views of Nantucket Harbor from every seat where you can sit back, take in the view and watch the sailboats pass by. During the summer months in peak season, the restaurant is extremely busy so be sure to arrive early to avoid long waits.

We recommend getting started for dinner or lunch with a sampling of fresh briny New England oysters or the jumbo Nantucket crab cake served with a tasty roasted corn relish and lemon aioli.

The seaside restaurant offers some of the best seafood on island. We recommend the butter poached halibut filet, a deliciously light white fish accompanied by a side of crisp white asparagus, tender roasted turnips and lobster cream. One of the best dishes on the menu is the lobster made even better when grilled and served with roasted potatoes.

Other main entrees include braised lamb shank with soft polenta, heirloom carrots and mint chimichurri; seared sea scallops with pork belly and fava beans as well as an uber tender eight-ounce filet, flavor filled 12-ounce New York strip or well marbled 16-ounce prime aged ribeye.

Finish it all off with a sampling of creamy turtle cheesecake (large enough to share) for a memorable dinner. If you decide to visit on the weekends, Brant Point Grill is also known for its famed Sunday Brunch and Lobster Bloody Mary.
