A new surge in student accommodation has seen dorms become modern marvels. Companies like Vita Student are creating designer properties for university residents that could seriously rival some hotels. After opening in Manchester, Vita Student has quickly expanded to Liverpool, Bristol, Exeter, Sheffield and Southampton. Not to mention all of their properties are at 100% occupancy.

The apartment style dorms are high end and minimalistic. Some are even equipped with 40-inch smart TVs and Smeg Kitchens. Every Vita Student property also has shared film screening rooms, gyms, and communal study rooms. These upscale accommodations much like hotels, are staffed by those who have experience in the leisure/hospitality industry. These staffers even know every resident by first name.

Also taking up the luxury dorm market is Pure Student Living, whose new East London building, Pure Aldgate, is shaking up the scene. The 19-storey tower has a geometric façade, and a 19th floor sky lounge. The lounge features a common room, panoramic views of London and a café with an outdoor terrace. The design focus of the building is the work of BuckleyGrayYeoman. The noted architecture practice has done work with Fred Perry, the Office Group and Derwent London.

Over in Leeds Iconinc is also making waves with all-inclusive studio apartments. Flat screen TVS, storage solutions and creative color schemes are all present in their luxe student building. Although they are on the higher end of this market, charging students up to £140 per week. Even with the price, these rooms are filling up very fast.
