Take a Peek at the Mosaic Hotel’s Multi-Million Dollar Renovation
Blink and you might miss the Mosaic Hotel, a 49-room boutique property in the heart of Beverly Hills.
The Mosaic is unassuming from the outside—in fact, you might not even suspect this Gemstone Hotels & Resorts-managed property is there—but once inside, you’ll certainly relax into its cool SoCal-inspired chic.
The hotel relaunched in August after a multi-million dollar renovation, and it shows. California is celebrated in the redesign through the splashes of bright colors s and original design elements, from the whimsical wallpaper to the ultramodern artwork as well as artistic touches including bespoke silk embroidered Fromental wallpaper with a nod to famed artist David Hockney, as well as a custom weave sculpture by Renee Dinauer and original wall art by David Dauncey.
The rooms feel environmental; in addition to the Mosaic’s signature sage, you’ll find bright white, azure and dark blues throughout. Seductive dark blue corridors with bronze pinstripes are juxtaposed with light and contemporary cool guest suites. Those seeking the best should book the Pool Suite, which includes two bedrooms, separate living room and dining areas as well as a 75-foot balcony overlooking the pool and their own private entrance. In said suite you’ll find SoCal’s famous palm trees on the walls of the bathroom as well as rainfall showerheads, Filetto marble tiles and white stone vanities throughout with white Calacatta marble. With state-of-the-art latest technology, guests can feel at home with connectivity options that can be personalized to their own devices. The rooms come stocked with all today’s luxury-boutique must-haves including recessed lighting, electric “do not disturb” signs and Nespresso machines.
Though it’s small, the Mosaic’s on-site restaurant is mighty and our favorite part of the stay here. The fresh, tapas-style menu offers light bites like an ahi stack with cucumber, avocado, mango, teriyaki glaze and wonton crisps, a fantastic hummus and the sweet-meets-savory sweet chili-lime chicken, which you can enjoy al fresco, from a cabana with a cozy fire pit or from the small yet airy and elegantly appointed dining room.
