Haute Scene: Bermuda Tourism Authority Host #RacetoBermuda Party at Lightbox in NYC
#RaceToBermudaParty, A Kick-off to The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Bermuda
Last night, the Bermuda Tourism Authority commenced its celebration to the countdown to the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series. The extravaganza kicked off with a #RacetoBermuda party at Lightbox in the heart of Midtown.
Event-goers mixed and mingled with members from team Oracle including Tom Slingsby and Matt Cassidy. Guests enjoyed Bermudian inspired bite from renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, who earlier this year opened new restaurant, Marcus’, in Bermudaat the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, A Fairmont Managed Hotel. Cocktails were created provided by Gosling’s Rum and Champagne by Moët & Chandon, while attendees danced the night away with DJs Paul Sevigny and Damon DeGraff on the turntables.
Of those in attendance included Paul Sevigny, Damon Degraff, Jenn Rogien, Hanna Selleck, Julia Lundin, Arturo Castro, Monica Watkins, Tom Slingsby (Sailor, Oracle Team USA), Matt Cassidy (Sailor, Oracle Team USA), Sir Russell Coutts (CEO America’s Cup Event Authority), Premier of Bermuda Michael H Dunkley, Bermuda Tourism Authority CEO Bill Hanbury.
“Less than two hours flight time from Bermuda, New York is a key market for the destination, and we’re thrilled to have worked with the America’s Cup team to highlight these special upcoming events in Bermuda during New York Fashion Week. It’s an incredibly exciting time to be in Bermuda and we look forward to welcoming participating racing teams, organizers and visitors alike to experience the island’s unique events and hospitality,” Hanbury said.
In addition, The Premier of Bermuda, Michael Dunkley, unveiled The Auld Mug, the Oldest Trophy in International sport, making its debut during New York Fashion Week. A trip to Bermuda was given away by JetBlue Getaways.
The Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series will take place in Bermuda October 16-18th and is a prelude to 2017 when the 35th America’s Cup, presented by Louis Vuitton will be held in Bermuda.
