Floyd Mayweather Retires on a Win with $700 Million in Earnings

Floyd Mayweather Jr. ended his career on a high note as he won a unanimous decision over Andre Berto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.  Mayweather retired at the age of a 38 with a 49-0 career record matching only that of Rocky Marciano.

“My career is over. It’s official,” he said, though skeptics say he’ll be back to fight match 50.

During his 19-year career, the fighter earned $700 million, including the $32 million he took home for Saturday night’s SHOWTIME PPV and Mayweather Productions-presented bout.

The match drew a crowd of the biggest names in entertainment and sports. Those who sat ringside included Justin Bieber, Joe Manganiello (who hosted his own fete on the 12th for the reopening of LAVO Las Vegas), Nick Cannon, Jamie Foxx, Brad Garrett, David Guetta and DJ Tiesto. 

Prior to the event, SHOWTIME host a pre-fight party at the MGM. Guests included Steve Howey, Shad Moss, Gabriel Iglesias, Vince Neil, Metta World Peaxe, Josh Stamberg, Jen Welter, Luke Wilson, CBS Corporation President Leslie Moonves, Showtime Chairman & CEO Matt Blank and Showtime President David Nevins.
