Brasserie Azur Opens in Midtown Miami

South Beach’s popular Villa Azur have planted a flag in Miami’s Midtown. The famously French eatery, designed by Francois Frossard and owned by Michael Martin and Jean Philippe Bernard, is known for serious glamour, a beautiful indoor/outdoor terrace and great Mediterranean fare. Since its opening in 2012, it’s been a great way to soak up some serious beautiful-people scene without staying up too late.

Now you can feel the cool vibe even earlier at this more casual eatery, which will be open day and night. Frossard came back to create an atmosphere is a bit beach club, a bit garden, with neutral tones, wood, stone and… foosball tables perfect for whiling away (at least part of) the day. The best part might be happy hour from 4-8pm, where light bites and certain libations will be very reasonable. It’s going to be an experience too, with full time stations on display including a rotisserie oven with chickens going nowhere fast, a seafood bar, and a large wine bar and communal table.

All of this equates to some serious hanging out, but it’s not essential to spend a lot of time at Brasserie Azur. In fact, they are offering an express lunch menu which is going to allow diners to eat two full courses in under forty five minutes. And it will be good too. With Executive Chef Erwin Mallet at the helm, they will serve up plates like butterflied whole grilled branzino with fennel and lemon; roast beef slices au jus served with homemade mashed potatoes; and chicken paillard marinated with lemon herbs, served with arugula and cherry tomato salad.

Pastry Chef Francois Paille will be tempting sweet teeth with pistachio macaron, the tiramisu tart, and the caramelized meringue lemon tart as well as an old-school dessert cart with chocolate mousse and apple tarts.

More good news is that you will not have to wait six months to go their for brunch. They are going straight into it with egg dishes like Eggs Benedict, hamburgers with foie gras and bottomless mimosas for an extra $25. Chin chin!
