Immediately following the 87th Academy Awards, stars like Julianne Moore, Michael Keaton, Ethan Hawke, Emma Stone and Jennifer Aniston will head to the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland for the 2015 Oscars Governor’s Ball.
The Academy Awards’ official afterparty is (officially) the big daddy of all Oscar parties: every star passes through, whether or not their eventual destination is the Elton John AIDS Foundation afterparty, Madonna’s VIP star-studded fete, Vanity Fair’s annual bash, or (likely for some), home.

This year, 1500 guests will celebrate at the tribute to vintage Hollywood. Academy governor and ball chair Jeffrey Kurland and producer Cheryl Cecchetto have created a room filled with over 3,000 photos and other pieces of archival material from the Academy’s own collections. Hundreds of photos from the archive will create a gigantic 3-D structure, while smaller framed shots will appear throughout the space.

Elsewhere in the room you’ll spy linens of varying materials and textures from Resource One, which include faux fur edging and delicate glass beads. Though the ambiance is quite dark and masculine this year, Mark’s Garden adds a feminine touch with arrangements of roses, calla lilies, orchids and hydrangea (though the tones are, too, quite dark in shades of eggplant, emerald and burgundy).

Master chef Wolfgang Puck along with chef Matt Bencivenga are catering the official affair, serving up 50 dishes from hors d’oeuvres to small plates to entrees like smoked salmon to specialized chocolate desserts shaped like Oscar statuettes. The affair even more fabulously donates uneaten food to L.A. Speciality Chefs to End Hunger.

Piper-Heidsieck will serve the official champagne; CEO Cecile Bonnefond was on hand to discuss the champagne brand’s three-year partnership with the Academy.
Other alcohol served at the affair includes, Sterling Vineyard wines, Johnny Walker and Ketel One.
