To celebrate the 2014 Stanley Cup winning Los Angeles Kings—the NHL team’s second win in three years—Graham has launched a limited edition timepiece reserved for the players. The Silverstone RS Endurance LA Kings embodies the same energy and enthusiasm that the players experienced in conquering the NHL Championship.
On November 28th, Graham organized an awards presentation, where founder Eric Loth gifted each player—from team captain Dustin Brown to goalie Jonathan Quick– with their own, unique timepiece.
The watches actually contains a piece of history, which will long be appreciated and worn by each team member: the seconds counter at 9 o’clock on each watch dial features a certified slice of the game puck used in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final on June 13, 2014.
This feat was not easy to achieve, as the puck bears the marks and scratches of the final game. The two sides of the puck were cut with a laser machine, each face being cautiously milled with a grinding-wheel then stoned to reach only 0.45mm thick. A thin slice of the puck was then cut with a precision laser from a specific part of the disc.
Positioned on the left of the dial at 9 o’clock, the slice is captioned with the inscription “2014 final winning game 5 used puck.” The 2014 Stanley CupTM victory is set in stone on the side of the case at 3 o’clock, while the “2014” inscription is engraved alongside two white diamonds (0.014 cts).
