Sam Nazarian is officially off the market! The sbe chief and founder has proposed to his long-time girlfriend, supermodel Emina Cunmulaj. The surprise proposal took place on the evening of Sept. 13th at Sam’s Sumerlin estate in front of an intimate group of friends and family. Congratulations are in order!
Leonardo Dicaprio will be named a “Messenger of Peace” by the United Nations. Along with this extraordinary title, the actor has been asked to speak at the U.N. Climate Summit on Sept. 23 to address the topic of climate change. “It’s an honor to accept the role of UN Messenger of Peace on Climate Change and to support the Secretary General in his efforts to address one of the most important issues we face as a global community,” the actor said in a statement. “I feel a moral obligation to speak out at this key moment in human history – it is a moment for action. How we respond to the climate crisis in the coming years will likely determine the fate of humanity and our planet.”
Judd Apatow has closed a huge two-season deal with Netflix for his next comedy; the first season is set to be 10 episodes, the second 12. The half-hour project, titled Love, centers on two characters, Gus and Mickey, and focuses on, naturally, their love lives. Apatow penned the spec script with Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer Lesley Arfin and Super Fun Night actor-writer Paul Rust. Rust is also attached to star (as Gus) opposite Gillian Jacobs (Mickey).
Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop has collaborated with DVF on a limited-edition clothing collection. The line includes two wrap dresses, a suit, sunglasses, two wallets and a scarf, most of which are in black or white.
HAUTE TIME
Westime has officially opened its fourth retail location in Malibu. The brand celebrated with an intimate cocktail party on Sept. 19th at its Cross Creek store. Guests sipped champagne and gazed longingly at stunning timepieces from the likes of Hublot, Richard Mille and HYT.

Traditional Jewelers opened its new space at Fashion Island in Newport Beach with a two-day party. More than 300 invited guests attended the grand opening events on Wednesday, Sept. 3 and Thursday, Sept.4, where Traditional Jewelers’ top VIP clientele mingled with brand executives from Fred Leighton, Chanel, Kwiat, A. Lange, Baume & Mercier and more, all of whom perused the new 10,000- square foot luxury store, which now features four exclusive shop-in-shops for Rolex, Cartier, Officine Panerai and Patek Philippe.
DSquared2 opened its first US flagship on, of course, Rodeo Drive. Located in Etro’s former space at 461 North Rodeo Drive, the gorgeous 5,184-square-foot boutique is filled to the brim with Dean and Dan Caten‘s fall 2014 collections for both men and women.
