5th Annual Divas Shop For Opera

News | May 24, 2010

Framed artwork hung on walls, home furnishings spread out across the room, and Mannequins draped in vintage clothing were posted throughout the spacious wood floor of 82Mercer, as guests poured into the venue for the 5th Annual Divas Shop For Opera.

Vogue Editor Hamish Bowles, Sex & The City Stylist Patricia Field, 1stdibs founder Michael Bruno, novelist and TV journalist Elsa Klensch, Ruben and Isabel Toledo, alongside Lorry Newhouse all gathered to host the long awaited shopping gala.

As a special feature for this year’s festivities, 25 designers created sketches inspired by a New York Opera Character. There were several renowned designers in attendance and all proceeds benefited the design and construction of costumes for new productions at the New York City Opera.
