Haute 100 LA Update: Jessica Alba Named Mother of the Year at Helping Hand Luncheon
It isn’t just daughters Honor and Haven who think that Jessica Alba is an amazing mom. Just about everyone agrees that the 33-year-old actress is a super-mom, which is why Cedars-Sinai chose to honor Alba at its annual The Helping Hand of Los Angeles Mother’s Day Luncheon, where she was named Mother of the Year.
The event took place just prior to Mother’s Day 2014 last Friday. Alba was presented with her award from husband Cash Warren as well as her children during an elegant daytime ceremony at The Beverly Hilton.
Dana Walden and Sheril Freedman were also honored at the 85th annual event, which was hosted by Emmy Award-winning news anchor Christine Devine; additional guests included the likes of Jane Lynch and Garcelle Beauvais.
The day’s program included the luncheon, awards presentation and fashion show by Los Angeles based designer Margi Kent; all proceeds benefitted the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai.
Established in 1929, Helping Hand is the longest active support group at Cedars-Sinai. For over eight decades, The Helping Hand of Los Angeles has raised over $23 million for the Cedars-Sinai Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The Mother’s Day Luncheon and Fashion Show recognizes and applauds the contributions that mothers make.
