We have good news and bad news regarding Diane von Furstenberg. Sadly, the CFDA president’s long-running Journey of a Dress exhibit at the historic Wilshire May Company building is closing up shop. The good news, fans of the brand can expect way more DVF in the City of Angels.
The last day of the designer’s crowd-pleasing exhibit is this Thursday, May 1, so if you have the time, go and check out variations of DVF’s most iconic dresses, self-portraits by artists like Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton and Mario Testino and photographs of celebrities and VIP fans like Michelle Obama wearing the garment in the 40th anniversary retrospective.
But while we’re losing the exhibit here, we’re also gaining two new stores. According to WWD, von Furstenberg will be opening locations at Rick Caruso‘s Caruso Affiliated properties including The Grove in West Hollywood and Americana at Brand in Glendale this year by late fall.
The shops will both carry not only the aforementioned wrap dresses, but also ready-to-wear, accessories, handbags and footwear.
