What happens when Elon Musk joins forces with the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Ashton Kutcher? That answer isn’t yet known, but greatness is expected.

Billionaire tech entrepreneurs Musk and Zuckerberg have partnered with actor Kutcher, who played a tech entrepreneur, the late Steve Jobs of Apple, to make a $40 million investment in the artificial intelligence (AI) firm Vicarious FPC.

Through Vicarious, the men ambitiously will attempt to replicate the neocortex, the part of the brain that sees, controls the body, understands language and does math.

According to Vicarious co-founder Scott Phoenix via the Wall Street Journal, the company’s intent is to create “a computer that thinks like a person, except it doesn’t have to eat or sleep.”

The company’s website reads: “Vicarious is developing machine learning software based on the computational principles of the human brain. Our first technology is a visual perception system that interprets the contents of photographs and videos in a manner similar to humans.”

This is only the latest groundbreaking company for Musk, who truly has a vision of the future. The 42-year-old South African is the founder, CEO & CTO of SpaceX, which is developing quickly reusable rocket technology that Musk says could be used to colonize other planets, founder CEO & Chief Product Architect of Tesla Motors and founder of PayPal, among other companies.
