Oprah Winfrey Honored at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Now that’s the spirit!

Oprah Winfrey was so excited to be honored at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) this week, that she couldn’t resist dancing onstage while accepting her “Montecito Award.”

The Montecito resident, who was feted for her recent work in Lee Daniels’ The Butler, among other films, shook and shimmied onstage at the Arlington Theater to Bruno Mars’ hit song, “Treasure.”

Winfrey was in an exceptional mood at the Heineken-sponsored event, joking with commentator John Horn that her “body of work” in film was only comprised of around four motion pictures. Horn was quick to note that when it came to her career, “it’s about the quality of work, not the quantity.”  The comment was met with huge applause from the crowd.

Queen O shared what it was like working on films such as The Color Purple, to her latest starring role in The Butler.  She also divulged that she hopes 12 Years a Slave wins Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards.
