SMOKING HAUTE: Jay-Z and Cohiba partner on Comador Cigar

After yielding $1 million in profits with his chic Barneys New York clothing line, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter is on to the next one — “one” being his next big financial success, that is. The rapper, producer and entrepreneur has partnered with Cohiba® to develop the 6 “x 52-toro-size Comador cigar. Handcrafted in Santiago, Dominican Republic, Comador features a rare Connecticut Havana wrapper blended with hand-selected leaves from the Caribbean and Central America, which gives its flavor nuances of wood and notes of spice. It took Jay, along with the artisans of Cohiba, two painstaking years to refine the cigar’s flavors and characteristics; the result is smooth perfection. The Comador Humidor’s packaging is as sleek as the cigars it holds. It is bound in hand-finished leather with a metallic Shawn Carter Collection crest that opens vertically to reveal 14 cigars; seven additional cigars are contained inside the enclosed hand-plated, Spanish cedar-lined travel humidor. Mahogany-lined doors, custom cedar trays and a humidification unit comprise the exquisite piece. Only 350 humidors have been produced, which, in our eyes, makes this the “Holy Grail” of collector’s items.
