Parisian Labels Sandro and Maje to Launch in Dubai

The Middle East’s first stand-alone Sandro and Maje store will open at Mall of the Emirates on 14 February 2014. A popular affordable luxury label, Sandro and Maje were found independently by two sisters; Sandra was launched in 1984 by Evelyne Chétrite, whose parents moved to Paris from Morocco when she was a child. Maje was set up in 1999 by her younger Moroccan-born sister Judith Milgrom, worked with her at Sandro for 12 years prior.

Sandro is known for their sleek and sophisticated separates as well as focus on color and fall of the fabric. The brand often combines chic materials such as silk, cashmere and leather. Maje was created for a woman who is ‘a lover of bohemian, feminine fashion.’ The lable is renowned for its softly draped silk dresses and classic cover-ups in wool and leather.

In 2007, Evelyne and Judith were joined by Fridiric Biousse and Elie Kouby to accelerate the development of their brands and SMCP Group (Sandro, Sandro Men, Maje and Claudie Pierlot)  was subsequently created in 2010 upon an investment made by L Capital, the investment group within LVMH.
