Dubai is the First Market to Launch the ‘Secret’ of Rochas Perfume
The ‘Secret’ of Rochas is the house’s first signature luxury perfume since Marcel Rochas unveiled Femme in 1945. What’s more is that Dubai has been chosen as the first market to launch the elegant scent.
When Marcel Rochas opened his fashion house in 1925, he was celebrated as the “designer of youth.” His ability to capture the elusive je ne sais quoi that is the very essence of Parisian chic made immediately popular. He was also known for being as infatuated with fragrance as he was by fashion leading him to create some of the most legendary perfumes of the 20th century, including the timeless chypre Femme, launched in 1945.
Nearly 70 years after the launch of Femme, Rochas has unveiled Secret de Rochas, a new, modern vision of Parisian femininity composed by . “I am continually fascinated by scent, obviously, but I am particularly captivated by the emotions and memories they evoke,” explains Duriez. “I am not an intellectual perfumer; I work entirely on instinct.”
The floral-fruity-chypre of Secret de Rochas reflects the heritage of Femme. It is composed of top notes of rose, green, mango, passion fruit and peach; a heart of Osmanthus, Jasmine Sambac as well as a secret ingredient; and base notes of Transparent Moss Accord, Patchouli and Musky Notes.
The floral-apricot character of Osmanthus from China, reinforced by the sensuous scent of Jasmine Sambac from India, served as an ideal foundation for an iconic Rochas fragrance. “These very beautiful flowers have distinctive personalities because they are both floral and gourmand,” says the perfumer. “They both have the true elegance that is the hallmark of Rochas, as well as a bit of mystery.”
Secret de Rochas was launched in Dubai at an exclusive gala dinner.
The new ‘Secret’ perfume from Rochas will be available in the Middle East from January 2014.
