Haute 100 Update: Alicia Keys Visits The Philippines Following the Typhoon

Alicia Keys is well known for her charitable ways, but during a recent trip to the Philippines, the award-winning musician showed that her generosity has no bounds. On Monday, Keys performed a special concert in Manila at the Mall of Asia Arena. “Music has a way of lifting your spirit and that’s what I hope to do for the Filipino people,” she told The Philippines Star.

Following the concert, the Keys made a visit to the Villamor Air Base to distribute crayons and books to children affected by the devastating typhoon that turned the island nation upside down earlier this month. Nearly 5,200 people have died since Typhoon Haiyan ravaged the Filipino coastline and thousands have been left homeless. But dedicated activists like Keys are working hard to make life just a little bit easier for the victims.
