John Lennon’s Discipline Records Expected to Fetch $4,800 at Auction
John Lennon may have made beautiful music, but the rock legend wasn’t exactly a straight-A student. Apparently, the Beatles musician got into trouble for fighting, silliness and chewing gum.
Discipline forms from Quarry Bank High School for Boys in Liverpool, which detail the times Lennon was sent to detention at age 14 and 15, will be sold via an online auction beginning Nov. 22. The forms claim that Lennon had “just no interest whatsoever,” and that he gave “an impudent answer to question.” They also reveal that he once engaged in “shoving.”
Experts expect the papers, which were authenticated by Lennon’s classmate Pete Shotton, to sell for between $3,200 and $4,800 each.
