Corto Moltedo Handbag Brunch at Casa Novela
Designer Corto Moltedo held a trunk show at Haute Time contributor and attorney Daniel Novela and PAMM Chairwoman Marcella Novela‘s home on Saturday. The gathering gave tastemakers and socialites a look at the Corto Moltedo brand, which is currently only available in the US via corto.com. “I’ve been dedicating myself to achieving the highest quality I can develop so I’ve opened up my own atelier in Italy where we produce everything in house. I have seven artisans that just make my handbags,” says Moteldo, who just happens to be the offspring of the folks who do Bottega Veneta.
The line launched in 2004, and has been growing slowly ever since, with two branded shops – one in Paris at the Palais Royal and one in Milan. “I’m very much involved in the day-to-day production in Florence,” says Moltedo who finds inspiration for his bags in video games like Tetris and movies like Gattaca. Guests got to meet the designer, check out the colorful handbags and enjoy a delicious brunch by Lyon + Lyon in the Novela’s beautiful, art-laden home.
