Haute 100 NY Update: Stewart Rahr Donates $2 Million to Keep A Child Alive
Talk about generous! Celebrated philanthropist Stewart Rahr donated more than $2 million at Alicia Keys‘ 10th Annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball last night.
Dozens of celebrities, including Swizz Beatz, Zendaya, Pharrell Williams, Dee & Tommy Hilfiger, Padma Lakshmi, LaLa Anthony, Priyanka Chopra, Chris Daugherty, Gayle King and Rachel Crow gathered at Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom for the philanthropic fete, which raised money for the treatment, care and support of children and families affected by HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and India.
Despite the parade of couture fashion and incredible musical performances, it was Rahr’s generous donation that stole the show. The billionaire benefactor pledged to match the total of the evening’s donations, bringing the total amount raised to $4 million.
