Haute 100 LA Update: George Clooney’s ‘Monuments Men’ Gets Opening Date
George Clooney‘s latest directorial effort has an official release date.
Sony and 20th Century Fox announced yesterday that The Monuments Men will hit theaters on Feb. 7, 2014.
Monuments Men was originally slated to open at the end of this year; the new date means that the World War II film won’t be an awards season contender.
The Monuments Men revolves around a group of art historians and museum curators charged with rescuing art treasures taken by the Nazis.
Clooney stars alongside Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray and John Goodman in the film which is based on Robert Edsel‘s The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History.
