Joss Whedon’s Spooktacular Brentwood Crypt On Market

Joss Whedon, creator of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and one of the more influential figures in sci-fi and fantasy TV programming, has listed his 4,064-square-foot English Country home in Brentwood for $3,695,000. Although no black cats are included, there is a media room, a music room, two offices, and a wall of accordion doors that open the kitchen/family room to the outdoors, which is a 0.33-acre (14,327 square foot) double lot that includes a gated front courtyard and landscaped grounds that are park-like. Back inside, the house has four bedrooms, five bathrooms (and perhaps a ghost in the attic or a vampire in the basement who just might serve as Whedon’s muse)? In addition to Buffy and its spinoff “Angel” (about a private eye bloodsucker), Whedon created “Firefly” in 2002, which aired on Fox. While perhaps less well known for it, Whedon also has a line of comic books based on Buffyville, as well as penning a 25-issue run of Astonishing X-Men for Marvel. In September 2008, his Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog Soundtrack made the top 40 Album list, despite being a digital exclusive only available on iTunes. His successful venture with the online project helped him become one of the top Web video creators.Joss Whedon wrote a horror film entitled Cabin in the Woods with Drew Goddard, which has been greenlighted by MGM for production, with Goddard set to direct. He called it “The horror movie to end all horror movies… literally.” The 44-year-old Academy Award nominee (sharing the nomination for Toy Story’s screenplay) started his Hollywood career as a writer for “Roseanne,” a show that in its day annually set the benchmark for Halloween episodes. Dolly Niemann of Prudential California Realty, Brentwood, has the listing.
