Russell Simmons Hosts FFEU Benefit at New Hollywood Home
Russell Simmons celebrated his East Coast-based organization, the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, on the West Coast last week.
The 55-year-old mogul hosted a joint honorary dinner and housewarming party at his new home in the Hollywood Hills last Thursday.
Among those feted were Lucian Grainge, CBE, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group with a Humanitarian Award; Rashida Jones with the Shalom/Salaam Peace Award; Janice Bryant-Howroyd, CEO and Founder of the ACT-1 Group with the Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Award and Mohannad Malas, Founder and CEO of Dana Investments and IRA Capital and Co-Founder of the Orange County Islamic Foundation with the Muslim-Jewish Relations Award.
Sidney Poitier, Emmanuelle Chirqui, Michael Bolton, Marlon Wayans, David Foster, Macy Gray, Kimora Lee Simmons, Clarence Avant, LA Reid, Ron Burkle, Freddy Wexler and Affion Crockett were among the guests who noshed on vegan bites in Simmons’ backyard.
The man of the hour was also presented with a special proclamation from the Mayor and City of LA for his 10 year-service to the organization.
