Russell Simmons hosted his 14th Annual Art for Life Benefit at Fairview Farms in Bridgehampton this Saturday. The star-studded event raised more than $1.5 million to create art programs for inner city youth and offer exhibition opportunities for underrepresented artists. Hosted by Soledad O’Brien, the philanthropic event featured special performances by Estelle, Maxwell and Rick Ross.

Other notable attendees included Anthony Anderson, Al Sharpton, Melanie Fiona, Angela Simmons, Dina Lohan, Dina Manzo and Star Jones, who was an honorary chair. The Art for Life Benefit made sure to celebrate and distinguish its vital supporters, including Tyler Perry and Walter Mosley, for their financial and social dedication to the organization and the arts.

Even though the gala raised a significant chunk of cash, the fundraising fun isn’t over. Check out the silent auction on Charity Buzz until August 7th for a chance to bid on a private dinner for 10 with Russell Simmons prepared by Chef Todd English, lunch with Sarah Jessica Parker, a chance to go backstage during Fashion Week, a walk-on role in an upcoming Tyler Perry film and more.
