Kobe Bryant’s Championship Rings Sell for $282,000 at Auction

In theory, Kobe Bryant‘s championship rings should be priceless.

The reality, however, is that the rings were worth an estimated $10,000 apiece, and were sold for far, far more. 

The baubles fetched nearly $300,000 — $282,000 — at the Goldin Auctions, which closed Saturday morning.

The ring the LA Lakers star had gifted his father Joe, sold for $176,708, while the one that he gave to mother Pamela  went for $109,720.

In total, six lots were sold during the month-long auction, including Bryant’s 2000 NBA All-Star game ring, which sold for $55,597, two game-worn uniforms from high school and a medallion and ribbon from the 1996 Magic’s Roundball Classic.

Goldin Auctions will be donating $62,565 to The Bully Project, a charity that Bryant personally supports.

The injured NBA star had filed a suit against the auction house, arguing that his mother didn’t have a right to sell his personal items, though a settlement was reached last month. The Bryants thanked their son for his financial support and apologized for selling the priceless trinkets he had given as gifts.
