Malibu is getting just a little bit hotter this summer with the addition of new restaurant Nikita (no relation to La Femme).

The upscale Mediterranean eatery that favors Italian fare opened today in the ‘Bu just in time for July 4th weekend.

Its menu has been created by Michelin-starred chef Massimiliano Blasone of Apsleys in London; Israeli pastry chef Tal Hausen of London’s The Lanesborough and Karl Kessab, the world’s first tea sommelier, as well as wine sommelier Renée-Nicole Kubin and mixologist Greg Seider of Manhattan’s The Summit Bar have also joined the team.

The location is as prime as it gets — occupying an oceanfront space next to Nobu Malibu — and its space is owned by none other than Larry Ellison. As it happens, Nikita is also named after Ellison’s girlfriend.

Nikita will be open for dinner during its first few months.
