Haute Scene : 20TH ANNUAL RACE TO ERASE MS GALA
Nancy Davis’ annual Race to Erase MS benefit was made even hauter this year by the appearance of one very special star: Sir Elton John. The Rocket Man performed a full set of songs at the May 3 benefit held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza especially for friend and honoree Sharon Osbourne. A lively auction of items such as a new Aston Martin Centenary Edition DB9 raised $1.8 million for the charity before Taio Cruz and John took the stage. A-list guests like Rod Stewart, Kathy Hilton, Anne Heche and James Tupper watched from the crowd as Davis was joined by Marg Helgenberger, Kelly Osbourne, LaToya Jackson, Kim Richards and Cybil Shepherd to perform “Lean On Me” at the evening’s end.
