Bulgari and Twentieth Century Fox Present a Restored Version of Cleopatra at the Cannes Film Festival
Italian Fine Jewelry House par excellence Bulgari partnered with Twentieth Century Fox Entertainment to present CLEOPATRA at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The event commemorated the 50th anniversary of Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s academy award winning film while also honoring its legendary stars, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
The historical epic shot has been meticulously restored to mark this special occasion and will premiere on 21 May in a new digitally restored version as part of the official selection of Cannes Classics at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival in the Sixtieth Anniversary Theater. It will be hosted by Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain followed by a red carpet reception where a variety of jewels from Elizabeth Taylor’s personal collection will be on display. Of particular note will be a Bulgari handheld mirror made of gold and turquoise, a present to Taylor during the filming of CLEOPATRA and which she can be seen wearing in the movie, as well as original costumes from the film, on loan from Cinecittà Studios in Rome.
