Aspen/Snowmass Opens for Summer on Memorial Day Weekend
The chairlifts just stopped running, but the Aspen/Snowmass mountains will be open again in less than a month for summer operations.
The Silver Queen Gondola on Aspen Mountain will start running May 25 for weekend operations, and open daily beginning June 15. Daily activities including the climbing wall, disc golf, obstacle course and other family activities will take place throughout the summer. Classical music on Saturdays and Bluegrass Sundays will begin the weekend of June 15-16 and continue through Sept. 1 at the Sundeck.
The Elk Camp Chairlift and Gondola will be open seven days a week, starting June 22. Both give mountain bikers and hikers access to miles of premier trails. In addition, this year Elk Camp Gondola will open for evening activities with Valhalla Nights, an extension of the popular Ullr Nights that debuted this winter at Elk Camp on July 12 and 19 and Aug. 2, 16, 23 and 30.
