Aspen’s intimate rock venue has a lot to brag about, like presenting artists from B.B. King and Jane’s Addiction to Deadmau5 and CeeLo Green. But by appearing on Rolling Stone’s recent list of the “Best Clubs in America,” it’s now officially in an elite group.

The 450-person venue was named the No. 16 club in the country, joining iconic haunts like New York City’s Bowery Ballroom (No. 1) and Hollywood’s Troubadour (No. 2). Great music is typically expected in metropolitan cities, but harder to find in remote mountain ski towns. Owner Michael Goldberg and his team have defied that notion, and in the eight years since it opened, the Belly Up Aspen has become an artist favorite.
