Will Smith could have appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-winning film, Django Unchained, but opted out and the role went to Jamie Foxx instead. Now, the Academy Award winner has revealed the reason behind his seemingly baffling decision.
The quite reasonable explanation was that the 44-year-old didn’t want to play second fiddle to another character in the film.
He felt that Django was a smaller part than the one of bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz, played by Christoph Waltz.
