Monday was a mournful day indeed as the world learned that Jerry Buss, the owner of the LA Lakers, had passed away at the age of 80. His assistant, Bob Steiner, confirmed the news that he died at LA's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

His assistant, Bob Steiner, confirmed the news that he died at LA’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Though Buss had been hospitalized for most of the past 18 months while undergoing cancer treatment, his immediate cause of death was kidney failure.
