News | January 10, 2013

She’s absolutely America’s Sweetheart indeed.

Sandra Bullock was honored with the first ever People’s Choice Award for Favorite Humanitarian Wednesday night in LA.

The Oscar winner received the accolade for her major volunteer efforts with the Warren Easton Charter High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She said that she became involved with the school six years ago after Hurricane Katrina hit. As she felt a deep connection to the community, she strove to bring the high school back to life.

Bullock was presented with the award by longtime friend and Miss Congeniality co-star Regina King.
