New York is about to get a major infusion of French beauty. Caudalie, a cult-following French skincare line, have opened their first ever boutiques here in the city, with one in the West Village and another on Lexington Avenue. Whether you’re a Greenwich girl or an Upper East Side socialite, both boutiques are a little piece of Bordeaux in the heart of the city.
From the first glimpse of the stores’ window, covered with grapevines, you’re transported back to the family vineyards of founders Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas. Although the company’s products are on the cutting edge of antioxidant technology, they are first and foremost natural. Inside the beautiful oak and marble boutique, the company’s signature products are on display, including the Vinothérapie line which captures the benefits of the grapes grown on the founders’ estate, Château Smith Haut Lafite. At the store opening, Mathilde told Haute Fashion Daily about the grape pickers who, gathering the fruit for wine, would use the juice of broken grapes as a serum for their face, neck and hands. The effect was unmistakable.
