Eat Oysters, Help Save a Life
If climbing up a 3,200-foot snowy mountain at night doesn’t sound like your ideal evening, then maybe indulging in wine pairings and a fresh oyster bar for a good cause does. The annual Summit for Life returns to Aspen this weekend to benefit the Chris Klug Foundation, and participants who opt out of the summit part can Wine and Dine for Life on Friday. The owners of Turley, Failla and 32 Winds wineries will join Chef Barclay Dodge at Pacific Restaurant and Oyster Bar for an exclusive and gourmet soiree. On Saturday, athletes will ascend Aspen Mountain as part of the weekend’s benefit activities. Those who like to burn the candle at both ends have the option wine one day and climb the next.
The Chris Klug Foundation raises awareness for organ and tissue donation. Chris Klug is an Olympic bronze medalist, and the only Olympian in history to compete after a organ transplant. He is an Aspen resident. Last year, the organization raised more than $135,000 during this annual event. Tickets to the Wine and Dine event require a $250 donation and can be purchased here
