Mel Gibson Shows Off Soft Side at Celebrity Poker Tournament Benefiting Mending Kids International

News | December 4, 2012

Mel Gibson is showing off his soft side.

The Academy Award winning actor attended a celebrity poker tournament benefitting Mending Kids International just after taking two girls from Honduras who have undergone intensive facial surgery on a dream shopping trip earlier in the month as part of his work with the organization.

Gibson shopped with the girls, got them ice cream, lunch and American Girls dolls during the outing in LA.

The Braveheart star first became involved with the nonprofit organization after he was required to put in 16 hours as part of the community service that served as part of his sentence in a battery case involving his ex-girlfriend.

He seemed to be in good spirits as he attended the event at West Hollywood’s London Hotel alongside longtime pal Jodie Foster, as well as Robert Downey Jr., Camille Grammer, “Revenge” stars Josh Bowman, Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe.
