Seth MacFarlane Announced as Host of the 85th Annual Academy Awards
Seth MacFarlane has just accepted the hosting gig of a lifetime.
It was just announced that the “Family Guy” creator will host the 85th annual Academy Awards.
In a statement the funnyman said: “The Oscars are one of the few venues left on television where you have a full orchestra to do all kinds of fun stuff.”
Though he is known for his bawdy sense of humor, he still plans on “honoring that tradition of classic Hollywood showmanship, but also updating things in such a way that the show is entertaining.”
He will make his Oscars debut Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles.
