Cut, Style, Strut: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week takes the city by storm twice yearly, consuming the lives of designers and models, journalists and fashionistas. Setting the stage for Spring/Summer 2013 trends, September’s Fashion Week will present collections from more than 80 designers over the course of eight days. We’re excited for the unveiling of contemporary spin-off brands from Alexander McQueen, Valentino and Helmut Lang. Available at attainable price points, McQ will focus on knit dresses and Red, by Valentino, will show a collection catered to the flirty, uptown girl. HELMUT will offer simple jersey and rib items that feature asymmetrical hems and lines that channel Helmut Lang’s signature designs.

Join the fashion set on Thursday, September 6, for the fourth-annual Fashion’s Night Out. The city-wide event highlights all things fashion with exciting events, designer appearances and amazing after-parties.

On our agenda for FNO is a stop at Balenciaga’s Meatpacking boutique to see the debut of a new capsule collection featuring Vogue editor Grace Coddington’s drawings of her cat, Pumpkin. Bergdorf Goodman will celebrate its 111th anniversary with tons of celebrity drop-ins, special beauty demonstrations, a presentation of the new book Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman and a party photo booth by Tumblr. DJ Solange Knowles is spinning at Diane von Furstenberg’s Meatpacking District store, and Rebecca Minkoff makes an appearance at Saks’ flagship store to host a nail art party with manicures inspired by prints for fall.
